Job description

As a DevOps/SRE, you should have a passion for tackling challenges across a spectrum of
technologies. Previous experience in a similar role as a part of a software development
organization is preferred but not mandatory.
Within this new and varied role, you will be joining a friendly and inspiring team of developers
and DevOps specialists and you will be working as a bridge between the R&D team, the Service
Desk team, and our long-standing partner on one of most technical projects.
Our apps are in active development, so practicing sustainable incident response with our
partners is just as important as building new features and services. You will spend most of your
time owning the incident management pipeline, using DevOps principles and observability to fix
problems. You will also get to develop tools & automations for the team to use, and build a
resilient system for our team and partner.

Responsibilities

SLA Management:
Troubleshoot priority incidents, fixing bugs, enhancing the platform performance
and implementing feature requests where necessary
Working through (developer) service issues and communicating in a professional
and timely manner
Facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
Ops:
Oversee system infrastructure, including implementing and managing monitoring,
fixing, testing and maintaining services, application software and system
management tools
Fight the logging, monitoring and alerting spam by careful gardening and pruning
Complete coding assignments related to applications, testing, systems reliability,
monitoring, alerting, build and deployments, and analytics.
Develop and deliver configuration and deployment automation
Work with the team, championing platform improvements and DevOps principlesshould use in our products. Everyone participates, not just seniors;
Take responsibility for the product and software’s security, so you code with hacks / vulnerabilities in mind;

Requirements

3-5 years of relevant work experience supporting complex applications (SaaS preferred)
in the Cloud, including software development experience
Experience working with one or more cloud providers Azure/AWS/GoogleCloudPlatform
Scripting abilities in at least one of the following: Bash, Python, Javascript – NodeJS,
Golang
Knowledge of source control software (e.g. git)
Familiarity with microservices architecture and knowledge of container orchestration
frameworks and container management (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Amazon EKS)
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB, ArangoDB,
Elasticsearch – ELK stack etc.) and/or relational databases (e.g. MySQL, MSSQL,
Oracle)
Experience with ticketing management solution and source control (e.g. Remedy/Jira
ServiceDesk/Zendesk)
Knowledge of Unix/Linux OS
Experience with infrastructure-as-code-tools (Terraform, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS
Cloudformation, AWS CDK), CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket pipelines,
Gitlab pipelines, etc.)
HTTP, RESTful APIs, JSON, YAML
Networking knowledge (virtual private networks, subnets, DNS configurations, SSL
certificates, etc.)
Additional experience and hands-on skills with monitoring tools (InfluxDB, Grafana,
Prometheus, Zabbix or Graphite)
