Role
We are seeking an experienced Functional Consultant with a clear primary focus on SAP Customer Service (SAP CS) and its use of SAP S/4HANA Solution Quotation as a central commercial entry point. The role supports Order-to-Cash processes across all business areas and sales channels, including sales, rental, financing, and customer projects. Solution Quotations are used to structure customer offerings and to derive primarily SAP SD sales orders as well as relevant commercial contracts. SAP SD knowledge is therefore required as a complementary integration capability, while hands-on Solution Quotation experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, optimize, and support SAP CS and SAP S/4HANA Solution Quotation processes as the starting point for cross-business Order-to-Cash scenarios.
- Translate commercial requirements from sales, rental, financing, and customer-project business models into scalable, SAP-standard-oriented quotation and follow-up document designs.
- Configure and support Solution Quotations that generate primarily SAP SD sales orders and, where required, commercial contract documents.
- Ensure consistent document flow, status handling, partner and organizational data, item structures, and follow-up document determination from quotation to operational execution.
- Support integration with SAP SD for order creation and downstream OTC processing, without turning the role into a broad SAP SD specialist position.
- Analyze requirements, prepare functional specifications, coordinate testing and defect resolution, document solutions, and provide 2nd-level support.
- Collaborate with sales, rental, financing, project business, finance, architecture, development teams, and international key users.
Requirements
- Several years of functional consulting experience in SAP CS / Customer Service or closely related SAP S/4HANA commercial process capabilities.
- Strong functional understanding of SAP CS document and process configuration beyond classic after-sales scenarios.
- Practical experience in SAP customizing, requirements engineering, solution design, testing, troubleshooting, and productive support.
- Solid knowledge of SAP SD integration, especially the creation and processing of sales orders and contract-related follow-up documents.
- End-to-end understanding of Order-to-Cash process dependencies across different business models and sales channels.
- Ability to design sustainable solutions using SAP standard and Clean Core principles in an international S/4HANA environment.
Desirable Knowledge
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Solution Quotation, including mixed item structures and follow-up document creation.
- Experience with commercial scenarios for sales, rental, financing, and customer projects.
- Knowledge of SAP sales contracts and other contract-related follow-up processes.
- Awareness of Fiori applications, APIs, and integration patterns relevant to Solution Quotation and sales-order creation.
- Experience in global rollouts, template harmonization, or SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
Education & Professional Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable qualification through professional experience. Relevant SAP certification, agile delivery experience, and familiarity with Jira/Confluence are advantageous.
Language & Communication Skills
- Business-fluent English is required (minimum B2; C1 preferred).
- German language skills are highly desirable; German-speaking candidates are preferred where available.
- Strong written and verbal communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills in an international environment.
