Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP SD Functional Consultant specializing in Logistics Execution for outbound delivery processing. The role is deliberately focused on the SD delivery lifecycle and the creation and processing of delivery documents and delivery notes. It covers the configuration and support needed to execute shipping reliably, but does not require broad warehouse-management or transportation-management specialization.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support outbound delivery processing in SAP S/4HANA SD/LE.
- Maintain delivery types, item categories, copy control, delivery relevance, shipping conditions, shipping point determination, route determination, and delivery scheduling.
- Optimize delivery creation, delivery due processing, picking and packing integration, loading, post goods issue, reversals, and delivery status management.
- Ensure accurate delivery note and shipping-document output, including the required master and transactional data dependencies.
- Support directly related touchpoints to inventory management, warehouse execution, and transportation handover without assuming ownership of full EWM or TM scope.
- Analyze incidents, blocked deliveries, quantity/date inconsistencies, status issues, and output errors; perform root-cause analysis and 2nd-level support.
- Create functional specifications, test cases, documentation, and rollout materials and coordinate implementation with developers and business users.
Requirements
- Several years of SAP SD consulting experience with a clear focus on outbound delivery and Logistics Execution.
- Deep knowledge of delivery documents, shipping configuration, delivery scheduling, picking, packing, goods issue, and document flow.
- Practical experience with delivery note/output requirements and delivery-related form or interface coordination.
- Hands-on SAP customizing, testing, troubleshooting, and production-support experience.
- Good understanding of the direct integration between SD deliveries and inventory/warehouse or transportation handover.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA or transformation from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA.
Desirable Knowledge
- Awareness of EWM delivery integration or external warehouse-system handover.
- Awareness of SAP TM delivery integration or transport-relevant delivery data.
- Knowledge of IDoc/API-based delivery interfaces and modern SAP output management.
- Experience in global templates, rollouts, and process harmonization.
Education & Professional Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a comparable qualification through professional experience.
- Relevant SAP certification, agile delivery experience, and familiarity with Jira/Confluence are advantageous.
Language & Communication Skills
- Business-fluent English is required (minimum B2; C1 preferred).
- German language skills are highly desirable; German-speaking candidates are preferred where available.
- Strong written and verbal communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills in an international environment.
