Client
Our client is on a mission to unlock the potential of healthcare by creating smooth and accessible healthcare, where both patients and caregivers are empowered by the smartest digital technology available. Their goal is to enable AI precision while maintaining a human touch, allowing clinicians to focus on what they do best – practicing medicine.
Their platform is currently used by public and private healthcare in the Nordics and soon the world as the progress with their ongoing international expansion.
We are looking for a passionate Engineering Manager to lead the setup the first product development team at their new development site in Bucharest.
Role
As the first Engineering Manager at our client new development site…
You will, besides making a difference in the world, work closely with the General Manager in Bucharest, the Product Manager peers, and their CTO to recruit, develop, and lead the first cross-functional teams of brilliant engineers in Romania.
Your work will play a crucial part in establishing the new office and expanding their engineering team from one to two locations. This means not only building a high-performing engineering team but also, together with the engineering management team in Stockholm, establishing a “one-team” mindset where a shared strong technical and cultural foundation creates the base for a continuous growth of the Bucharest team.
You will combine managerial tasks such as recruiting and coaching with technical leadership and decisions in your day-to-day assignments. It will be up to you to ensure that your team has the competence and tools to help reach their goals.
You will work closely with the dedicated product manager responsible for your team’s product area and ensure that your team executes and delivers on its goals and commitments.
With the Engineering Leadership team (CTO, your peer Engineering Managers, QA lead, and Architects), you will collaborate and learn from each other and build a great and high-performing engineering organization with a great engineering culture.

Responsibilities
Coaching and supporting individual team members
Recruiting and growing the team
Maximize team performance by ensuring that the team is collaborating and working effectively
Ensuring that the team delivers on its commitments
Technically responsible for teams’ domains, including artifacts such as code, test cases, tooling, and documentation
Contributing to the engineering leadership team to develop the engineering organization as a whole
Being a role model of values and company culture
Requirements
At least a few years in a role with people responsibility in a cross-functional engineering team
Experience from working in flat, collaborative organizations leading with trust where team members are empowered and encouraged to take the lead and make decisions.
A robust tool-set of Agile software development methodology
Deep technical knowledge of systems design and architecture
Strong communication skills: you convey information with clarity & listen effectively.
