Client
Role: As Senior Marketing Data Analyst you ensure marketing decisions (budget allocation, testing, brand vs performance trade-offs) are evidence-based and aligned with marketing science, not driven by platform bias or opinions. This role exists to create consistent, high-quality decisions under uncertainty and to reduce wasted spend caused by wrong interpretation of data and models.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities
Weekly: produce decision-ready recommendations (increase/hold/cut/test) by channel, campaign type and creative themes
Weekly: define and maintain a structured testing agenda (media + creative hypotheses, priorities, success criteria)
Weekly: interpret and reconcile platform, MMP, last-click, and model outputs (MTA/MMM/incrementality)
Monthly: Build media planning scenarios that define budget splits across Branding, Retargeting, and Performance, break down investments by platform, and clearly outline expected outcomes, key trade-offs, and risks.
Ongoing: prepare leadership-ready summaries and presentations
Ongoing: document key decisions, assumptions, learnings, and “do’s & don’ts” in a shared knowledge base
Ongoing: leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, structuring, documentation drafts, and decision preparation (with human verification)
Your Key Competencies
Must have:
- Strong marketing science understanding (reach/frequency, brand vs activation, diminishing returns)
- Strong attribution maturity (bias awareness across last-click, platform reporting, MTA/MMM limitations)
- Media planning and budget allocation logic (scenario thinking, marginal performance logic)
- Ability to interpret MMM/MTA/incrementality outputs (no need to build models)
- Strong analytical judgment and structured decision-making under uncertainty
- Ability to use BI tools and analytical outputs confidently (reading, validating, questioning)
- AI tool usage as productivity multiplier (drafting, structuring, validation workflows)
- Confident reading and writing queries (joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations) to validate KPI logic, reconcile platform vs. internal data, and create repeatable self-serve analyses (no need to build core pipelines/models).
Nice to have
- Experience in app marketing environments (iOS/Android + web)
- Consulting/strategy background (structured problem framing, exec communication)
- SQL reading ability
Your soft skills
- High ownership and accountability (acts as “decision owner”, not a reporting function)
- Clear, structured communication (exec-ready, concise, unambiguous recommendations)
- Strong critical thinking (challenges assumptions, avoids “metric worship”)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and conflicting signals
- Collaborative and low-ego approach (aligns teams, reduces internal friction)
Your impact in this role
- Direct impact on marketing efficiency and growth by improving allocation and testing decisions
- Fewer wrong decisions due to bias and misinterpretation (platform vs MMP vs models)
- Higher learning velocity: faster iteration, clearer “next tests”, fewer random actions
- Stronger alignment across performance, creative, and analytics workstreams
Your Background – Education & Experience
- 5–8+ years in marketing analytics, performance strategy, growth analytics, or consulting
- Experience in fast-moving environments (scale-up or comparable pace)
- Degree in business/economics/marketing/analytics or comparable
