Our client is building the next generation cloud platform to power the production, post-production, distribution and monetization of video content, from the camera to the consumer eye.
About the role
As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you will be working with the latest cloud technologies to design and implement the next generation data pipelines, analytics and BI platform to support our innovative media platform covering video analysis and transcoding, behaviour analytics and recommendation engines, bridging the gap between content and consumers.
The stack
We build our infrastructure using Terraform and Serverless Framework
We are a fully cloud-based company with a strong relationship with AWS, all our infrastructure is deployed in AWS
We manage our code on GitHub
We track our requirements and work using JIRA and Confluence
Our cloud data warehouse is based on AWS Redshift
We use AWS Redshift Spectrum and AWS Athena to analyze data from S3
We also work with PostgreSQL
Our data visualization tool is AWS QuickSight
We use AWS API Gateway to ingest real time events
We use AWS Lambda for serverless processing
We use AWS Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze real-time, streaming data
We use AWS Glue for ETL/ELT, schema introspection and orchestrator
We use Python, PySpark, Spark and Node.js to build our ETL/ELT and processing services
We also use SNS, SQS, Secrets Manager, IAM, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Step Functions, S3, etc
Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain our BI platform
Support and advise the Product and Project Manager team
Keep up to date with the latest technologies and lead adoption initiatives
Ensure and maintain data security and quality
Participate in reports design and review proposed solutions to ensure they meet accuracy, performance, usability
and business requirements
Participate and contribute to the architecture design process
Review other people’s code and design
Requirements
You have 5+ years’ experience of working in a similar position
You have expertise in Data Warehouse, ETL, ELT, Cube and Report design and development
You have strong SQL Developer skills
You have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
You have extensive experience with report development using various tools (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight,
Excel, etc.)
You are fluent in modelling, managing, scaling and performance tuning of high-volume data warehouse environments
You have experience in working with structured and unstructured data
You have experience with dimensional data modelling
You are experienced and passionate about data storytelling with appealing graphics and visualizations
You have the ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects
Experience with languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash, Python, Spark, PySpark or other similar programming
languages
You have excellent communication skills
Language: Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with analytics services from AWS
Experience with latest cloud technologies of one of the biggest vendors (AWS is an advantage)
Experience with Terraform, Serverless
Experience with NoSQL databases
Experience in development of near real-time DWH / data lake solutions
Self-learner and eager to learn new software tools/technologies
Experience working with external APIs to extract and import data
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
