Role
As a Data Engineer in the Data Science team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the team’s data pipeline architecture which collects, processes, streams and analyzes very large amounts of data. Building the infrastructure will require optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources. As part of making the data easily accessible, building analytics tools that will utilize the data platform to provide actionable insights and BI.
Responsibilities
Design and build the data ingestion, validation, tracking and analysis efforts, as well as feature engineering and feature selection for our ML models, based on the requirements of the Data science projects and products;
Design and deploy complex data architecture and pipelines;
Design and build our data automation and analysis tools;
Define the monitoring and security compliance of all data aspects and phases, from data collection, through our models and processes;
Identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies that may drive improved efficiency and value to the data-driven algorithms developed by the Data science team;
Requirements
+3 years of experience as a Data Engineer;
Deep Knowledge and extensive experience of SQL, experience working with relational databases;
A positive, “can do” attitude;
Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures and data sets;
Proficient with visualization and analytical tools;
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management;
BA/B.Sc in Computer Science (or equivalent);
Excellent English skills;
Strong project management and organizational skills;
Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis etc.- an advantage;
Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift- an advantage;
Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python- an advantage.
