Client

Our client is a growing video game company with the headquarters located in Nice, France.
The newly established Bucharest studio is a growing team both supporting the Nice team in developing their flagship title as well as taking on their own challenges. The company released its first title, which became an almost instant success, selling more than 1 million copies in less than a month since its release. Today they continue to deliver new content for the game, but also explore new avenues and adventures.

Role

The Senior Level Designer will oversee the design of all environment content and ensure that the gameplay within it reflects the vision of the game and exploits its mechanics.

Responsibilities

Ensure the efficiency and focus of the team members
Collaborate and synchronize with the production team to prioritize and schedule the LD department workload.
Work closely with the game designers department to ensure the balancing and integration of all content.
Make sure the whole LD team is progressing and is being mentored by the more Senior profiles in a constructive and positive work environment.
Design contents and systems for any future content ensuring the creative direction is applied to the game.
Any other ad-hoc duties, based on the project’s needs (Attend interviews, participate in leads meetings, etc.)

Requirements

You justify at least 4 years experience in the video game industry on one or more AA or AAA games
Demonstable experience with with XML language and scripting
Ability to design creative and interesting game levels in one or more 3D tools such as but not limited to (Unreal Editor, Maya, Max, Hammer, Radiant or similar 3D editor)
Excellent knowledge of the ARPG
Must possess a full understanding of the relationship between gameplay elements within the level and the overall game as well as all of the ways a player can respond to each gameplay element
You must be able to speak eloquently about game design and get their ideas across both conversationally and visually. We don’t care if PowerPoint, Excel, or watercolors are your muse, so long as you can bend your chosen medium to the task of getting concepts in other people’s brains.
Good English skills
Proactive and able to anticipate problems
Excellent critical thinking skills
Experienced in working in cross-functional teams
Basic knowledge of storytelling and architecture
